DARLINGTON, S.C. – DGM Racing will pay tribute to the careers of two members of its family team during Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200 at Darlington Raceway.

As part of the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR, both the No. 36 and No. 92 Chevrolet Camaros will don throwback paint schemes hearkening back to members of the Gosselin family.

Alex Labbe’s No. 36 pays tribute to DGM owner Mario Gosselin’s “Bricks” paint scheme that Gosselin drove to the 1997 Hooters Pro Cup Series championship.

Gosselin’s 1997 Pro Cup season in the Jackaroo BBQ Sauce “Bricks” car featured five wins, eight top-five finishes and two poles, along with 853 laps led in 11 races.

The only Canadian driver in the Pro Cup ranks at that time, Gosselin progressed through the grassroots levels with his family-owned and operated team from local short tracks into the Pro Cup Series, then up into ARCA, the NASCAR Truck Series and eventually the Xfinity Series – then the Busch Series – where the team continues to compete today.

Meanwhile, Josh Williams’ No. 92 will bear the “Grasshopper” design that Gosselin’s oldest daughter, Megan, won the 2012 Mini Stock track championship with at Florida’s Auburndale Speedway.

Megan Gosselin, a fourth generation race car driver, is the car owner of the No. 92 entry and has more than 22 feature wins and 17 heat race victories in Grasshopper.

Racing has always been a family affair for everyone involved with the DGM organization. Megan Gosselin attended her first race at only nine days old, an Xfinity (then Busch Grand National) Series event at North Carolina’s Rockingham Speedway. She then started driving at Auburndale in the Kids Club at age nine with her father, Mario, as her co-pilot.

Mario’s wife and team owner, Michelle Gosselin, was his spotter and has continued to be an integral part of DGM’s present success. Megan Gosselin also shares Social Media Management duties for DGM Racing with her sister, mother and aunt. Together with Mario Gosselin, they make up the DGM Board of Directors.

Racing is so ingrained in the Gosselin family that even Megan Gosselin’s 61-year-old grandmother continues to race in the present day.

Combining the memories the family has made together, through racing and the success they have today, made the reveal of the two family-oriented throwback schemes particularly touching for Mario Gosselin.

“DGM Racing has always been built around family, but to see these two paint schemes on track at Darlington during NASCAR’s throwback weekend is something that really brings it full circle and it hits home for all of us,” Gosselin said. “Obviously, the scheme that I drove to the Pro Cup championship in 1997 is special to me for that reason, but to have Megan’s Grasshopper colors on track alongside it will be even more meaningful, since we did that together and both cars represent some of our proudest moments.

“We’re looking forward to Saturday’s race and hope both Alex and Josh can pick up solid finishes for all our DGM crew members and partners at The Track Too Tough to Tame.”

Labbe has three top-10 finishes in Xfinity Series competition this year, including a 10th-place finish at the season opener at Daytona (Fla.) Int’l Speedway in February, and is looking to improve on his career-best at Darlington of 17th that he set in 2018 and matched last September.

“It’s an honor to throw back to Mario’s title-winning Pro Cup paint scheme this weekend and carry the Bricks colors on the No. 36,” noted Labbe. “Mario had a lot of success driving that car in 1997 and, hopefully, we can channel some of that success this weekend and put together a great day in Darlington.”

Williams is coming off his third top-10 performance of the season last weekend at Daytona – a ninth-place effort after running inside the top five in the final stage – and sits 15th in points with four races remaining before the Xfinity Series playoffs begin.

He earned his personal best at Darlington of 16th during the track’s spring race in May, the first event back for the Xfinity Series during NASCAR’s return to racing from the COVID-19 pandemic.

While it might be a long shot for Williams to make it to the postseason on points, DGM Racing has embraced the role of the underdog through the years and Williams is hoping another strong finish at Darlington might be just what his No. 92 team needs to make a late run at the playoff field.

“We had a great run at Daytona last weekend, and it felt really good to put DGM Racing up against some of the biggest teams in our series; that’s what we strive to do each and every week and this team and all our partners deserved the great run we were able to have,” said Williams. “I’m looking forward to getting back to Darlington and hanging it out again on the top side; it’s a driver’s track and one that provides a lot of challenges you have to master over the course of a race there.

“I’m also really excited to be able to carry the Grasshopper colors that Megan Gosselin raced during her time behind the wheel as our throwback scheme this weekend,” Williams added. “Megan is a vital part of DGM Racing and a lot of what goes on behind the scenes wouldn’t be possible without her efforts. It’s special to be able to pay tribute to her racing career this weekend and we’ll hope to grab another great finish when it’s all said and done.”
