BRISTOL, Tenn. – After sweeping last weekend’s NASCAR Xfinity Series doubleheader at Richmond (Va.) Raceway, Justin Allgaier will find himself back out front again this week.
Allgaier will lead the field to green for Friday night’s Food City 300 at the .533-mile concrete bullring, based on NASCAR’s performance-based qualifying matrix.
Bristol marks the regular-season finale for the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The 12-driver playoff field will be finalized following Friday night’s 300-lap event.
The Riverton, Ill., veteran’s Saturday race win at Richmond, combined with the second-fastest lap and his sixth-place ranking in the current point standings, gave him the top spot on the grid with a score of 2.9.
Kaulig Racing’s Ross Chastain will join Allgaier on the front row, with Noah Gragson starting third to give Chevrolet a sweep of the front three positions.
Regular-season champion Austin Cindric will start fourth in a Team Penske Ford Mustang, while Justin Haley fills out the top five in another Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing.
Cousins Harrison Burton and Jeb Burton, Brandon Jones, Michael Annett and Chase Briscoe fill out the first five rows on the grid.
