MILLSBORO, Del. – Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series fueled by Sunoco modified teams have 29,000 reasons to travel to Louisiana in November.
For the first time ever, the STSS presents a ‘Cajun Swing’ with events earmarked for Gene Boyter’s Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., and Jerry Hobson’s Chatham (La.) Speedway.
The winner’s share for the three events totals $29,000.
STSS director Brett Deyo has partnered with the Louisiana-based Southern Super Modified series for this historic swing.
BD Motorsports Media LLC has leased Ark-La-Tex Speedway for back-to-back events on Wednesday, Nov. 11 and Thursday, Nov. 12. The Wednesday 40-lap event offers $4,000 to win minimum and $400 to take the green flag.
Thursday’s 50-lap race pays $5,000 to win and $400 to start.
After the two events at Ark-La-Tex, races will travel approximately 125 miles east to Chatham Speedway. Chatham will host the ‘Mods in the Marsh 100’ paying $20,000 to win for a 100-lap main event.
Friday will be qualifying night with Saturday reserved for the century grind main event. Saturday’s ‘Mods in the Marsh 100’ pays $500 to take the green flag.
The ‘Mods in the Marsh 100’ marks the second 2020 major event for the northeast modifieds at Chatham. Through the efforts of Brandon Hightower, the Southern Super Modified Series sanctioned a pair of high-paying events on Louisiana soil in May.
Those two races were won by New Yorkers Larry Wight and Matt Sheppard, respectively.
Fans will be permitted at all ‘Cajun Swing’ events. SPEED SPORT Network affiliate Dirt Track Digest TV will broadcast live throughout the entire swing.
