JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars closed their facility Saturday after a practice squad player tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.
The team said it consulted with the NFL and is following league protocols and conducting football activities remotely.
The Jaguars are scheduled to play host to the Detroit Lions at 1 p.m. ET at TIAA Bank Field on Sunday, and the team said in a statement they are still planning to play the game.
The team said it learned Friday night that the player had tested positive and was given a POC test to confirm the positive result.
The Jaguars have practice squad players sit together and apart from the players on the active roster during team meetings.
This is the first positive test for a Jaguars player since running back Ryquell Armstead was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Sept. 5
