Lindh Joins Turn 3 For Indy Pro 2000 Finale

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Reigning Indy Pro 2000 championship runner-up Rasmus Lindh will join Turn 3 Motorsport alongside Danial Frost for the season-ending Indy Pro 2000 Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by Cooper Tires and Allied Building Products.

The 19-year-old Swedish driver will wheel the No. 3 ACR/T3M car, filling in for Antoine Comeau who had to withdraw from the event due to work commitments as an options trading firm partner.

Both Lindh and Frost are proven race winners who procured podium finishes at St. Petersburg last year, setting the stage for an exciting return to the downtown street course.

Like Frost, Lindh was committed to make his debut in the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires series this year before the season was suspended until 2021 due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For Lindh, a podium finish at the Indy Pro 2000 finale would be a rewarding way to end the racing season.

“I’m really looking forward to joining Turn 3 Motorsport for this event,” said Lindh. “I have been on the podium at St. Petersburg before, and I’m going to try to repeat that this year. I’m going to give it my all on track and do my best to help the team get some results.

“Thank you to Turn 3 Motorsport for giving me the opportunity to race with them this weekend.”

Frost started the season with a bang, winning the season-opener at Road America in a thrilling drive from the back of the field. Taking his No. 69 DENJET car to the podium several more times throughout the year has placed the 19-year-old in the position to go for second in the championship this weekend.

With two final races on the schedule, the Singaporean is looking to bookend his season with a pair of victories and garner as many points as he can at the finale.

“I’m very excited coming into the final round of the season,” said Frost. “St. Petersburg is one of my favorite tracks on the calendar. We were on the podium last time we raced here, so I’m definitely expecting that for this weekend as well. I’m looking forward to having Rasmus as my teammate for this race, too. He’s a fast driver, and this can be a good opportunity to get both of the Turn 3 cars on the podium. We’ll have to extract everything we have to get that second spot in the championship, but I’m ready to fight for it.”

“Unfortunately, Antoine won’t be able to participate in this event due to work commitments, but it gave us the opportunity to bring Rasmus on board and put him in the No. 3 car for the weekend,” noted team owner Peter Dempsey. “I’m really looking forward to having two young, up-and-coming racers driving for our team, and I’m hoping they can work well together and push each other over the weekend. It’s great that we have two drivers that have experience racing at this course as well. Hopefully their knowledge will benefit our young team and lead us to some good results in St. Petersburg.”

The 1.8-mile, 14-turn street circuit of St. Petersburg, which was originally due to serve as the season-opener in March, will be the only street race on the calendar for the Road to Indy.

Both the Indy Pro 2000 series and the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship will support the NTT IndyCar Series as the season comes to a close for all three series on the streets of St. Petersburg.

Weekend activity for Indy Pro 2000 begins on Friday with a practice session in the morning and a qualifying session in the afternoon.

Saturday will host a second qualifying session followed by race one in the evening, and race two will take place Sunday morning before the NTT IndyCar Series race.
