ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Ryan Hunter-Reay told SPEED SPORT Saturday morning that his deal is nearly completed to return to Andretti Autosport in the No. 28 Honda next year.
“I feel really good, the deal is pretty much done,” Hunter-Reay said while sitting on his scooter in the IndyCar Paddock Saturday morning. “We’re going to make an announcement real soon.”
When asked if he would return in the DHL colors, Hunter-Reay nodded his head affirmative.
The long-running DHL sponsorship with Andretti Autosport to support Hunter-Reay’s No. 28 Honda was set to conclude at the end of the 2020 season.
But it appears, according to Hunter-Reay, that DHL will return for next year, providing the 2012 NTT IndyCar Series champion and 2014 Indianapolis 500 with another season as one of the top drivers at Andretti Autosport.
