FORT WORTH, Texas – NASCAR officials have been forced to yet again postpone the conclusion of the Autotrader EchoPark 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
After spending most of Tuesday attempting to dry the 1.5-mile speedway, track and NASCAR officials appeared to be making progress late in the afternoon and early evening.
However, shortly after NASCAR announced that cars would re-fire at 8:30 p.m. ET, mist began to fall and fog began to roll back in over the track. Despite the best efforts of all involved, it became obvious there would be no racing Tuesday at Texas Motor Speedway shortly thereafter.
The resumption of the NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 will now take place at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Clint Bowyer is currently scored as the race leader with 53 laps officially complete.
NASCAR officials confirmed that any additional postponements would require an adjustment to the Martinsville Speedway schedule. Martinsville Speedway is slated to host all three NASCAR national divisions this weekend, with the NASCAR Cup Series set to race at the half-mile oval on Nov. 1.
