SOMERSET, Ky. – Chris Tilley, the owner of the, Iron-Man Late Model Series, has announced the series will expand to feature Northern and Southern divisions.
The Northern tour will cover parts Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. With a few events already booked, Tilley hopes to include between 12 and 15 races on the schedule for the Northern tour.
The Iron-Man Southern tour will feature events in Kentucky, Tennessee and North Georgia, with Tilley looking to schedule between 15 and 18 races. Each tour will have its own points fund, plus bonus money for anyone who runs both tours.
In addition, Tilley confirmed the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Open Wheel Series will continue next season with events in Kentucky and Tennessee. Brucebilt will also be returning as title sponsor of the series, which is expected to feature between 15 and 18 races.
“We want to iterate the fact that this isn’t another new series, we have just expanded our current tour to include two regions,” Tilley said in a press release. “This will strengthen regional series racing in both regions while allowing drivers to run for some extra points money and not interfere with tracks weekly late model events. It will also fill the void left by some of the series from days gone by that have went out of business or not continued.
In addition, Tilley is working to secure a new title sponsor for the Iron-Man Late Model Series, which was most recently sponsored by Schaeffer’s Oil
“We just finished up a multi-year contract with Schaeffer’s Oil and we want to thank them for their amazing support for the last five years as the title sponsor,” said Tilley.
Additional details, including schedules for the Northern and Southern regions, will be announced at a later date.
