CARLISLE, Pa. – CJB Motorsports confirmed Wednesday evening that Brent Marks will return to the team for the 2021 sprint car season, again driving the No. 5.
Marks has run a “true outlaw” schedule this year, with two top-five and six top-10 finishes in 13 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature starts and one win, seven top-five and 13 top-10 finishes in 18 All Star Circuit of Champions appearances.
In addition, Marks was a stalwart at several Central Pennsylvania facilities in 2020, finishing second in points at the half-mile Williams Grove Speedway and ranking third in the Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway standings. He earned three wins between the two tracks.
“Brent has been a welcomed addition to our team,” said team owner Chad Clemens. “Our season has been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and we are extremely grateful that we have been able to race as much as we have. That being said, it took some time for Brent to gel with the team and we really started to see an uptick in performance as the season wore on. We were particularly strong at Port Royal Speedway this year and we are excited to continue into 2021.
“We are keeping our driver, crew and partners in place to build upon our success in 2020.”
Marks, coming off a strong year, is excited to return to the seat of the familiar No. 5.
“I’m really excited to be back behind the wheel of the No. 5 next year,” said Marks, the driver of the No. 5 M&M Painting and Construction, BAPS Paints, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Alkaline 88 Water, R.E. Pierson Construction Co., Wolfrun Landscapes, Nyce, Crete & Landis Block and Concrete, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Ecynbro Trucking machine. “We really built a good program throughout 2020 and I feel 2021 will be an outstanding year for us. I have been really happy working with Barry (Jackson), Tyler (Rhey) and Brian (Kane.) This is a great team with the dedication it takes to win races and I’m honored to be apart of it.
“I have to say thanks to Chad Clemens for another opportunity to race his car. He has been great to me and this team and it’s a privilege to race for his family,” Marks continued. “Thank you to all of my sponsors who support us day in and day out. I am so thankful for the friendships we have developed over the years and look forward to next season.”
