TULSA, Okla. – Officials from the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals confirmed Thursday evening that the 35th edition of the marquee midget event is still on as scheduled, Jan. 11-16.
However, the grandstand capacity for the event – held inside the Tulsa (Okla.) Expo Center on the quarter-mile Tulsa Expo Raceway – is currently limited to 25 percent.
“Although we enjoy seeing the fans packed around the Tulsa Expo Raceway, for one of the greatest motorsports events in the world, we want to ensure our fans are as safe as possible,” officials said in a statement. “With these restrictions, if ticketholders do not wish to attend the 2021 Chili Bowl Nationals, we request notification from them by Nov. 20.”
Fans who notify event officials they will not be attending the 2021 Chili Bowl will not be charged and their tickets will be reserved for renewal prior to the 2022 event. For those who have paid by check or cash and choose not to attend, refunds will be processed.
Requests to defer Chili Bowl seats until the 2022 event must be made before 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20. To contact the Chili Bowl office, call (918) 838-3777.
