LAKE CITY, Fla. — Promoter Brad McCown has announced the addition of the inaugural Florida Frostbuster weekend on Feb. 4-6 at North Florida Speedway in Lake City, Fla.
McCown manages both Atomic Speedway and Skyline Speedway in Ohio.
The North will pair up with the South for the weekend, as Candice Kealy of Dirt’s 4 Racing Promotions and McCown have teamed together for the special event.
On Feb. 4, there will be an open practice, while Feb. 5’s event will pay $8,000 to win for super late models and the Feb. 6 finale will pay $8,000 to win for super late models.
The Iron-Man Late Model Series will sanction the two events as non-points races and run both races under Iron-Man technical rules and procedures. The track prep crew will be done by some of the best in the country, as McCown and crew will be bringing their own staff to work with the North Florida crew for the best racing surface possible.
For the open practice on Feb. 4, track time will run from 6-9 p.m. while the Grit 602 Center Mods will race for $800 to win. Practice is $30 per person in the pits. The grandstands will be $10 admission on Thursday.
On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5-6, the pits will open at 2 p.m., with the drivers meeting slated for 6 p.m. and hot laps following around 6:30 p.m. Adult general admission is $25 per person, while adult pit passes are $40 per person.
The Grit 602 Center Mods will race for $1,000 to win Friday and $1,200 to win Saturday.
