SOPHIA, N.C. – Officials from the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour have announced the addition of Caraway Speedway to the series schedule for this season.
The event will be held on May 22 and feature the CARS Late Model Stock Tour. It will be the first time the series has competed at the .455-mile asphalt oval.
“We are looking forward to hosting the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour Late Model Stock Cars in 2021” said Caraway Speedway owner Darren Hackett. “2020 has been a trying time for Caraway Speedway and the sport in general. We managed to adjust to limitations on events due to the COVID-19 pandemic as did Jack McNelly and his team and as we prepare for 2021, we will all work toward rebuilding from 2020. The addition of the CARS Tour fits with the Caraway promise to give our fans the best in short track competition and perfectly into our Fab Five specials for 2021 that includes, in addition to the CARS Tour, three SMART Modified Tour events and the 19th Annual North-South Shootout in November of 2021.”
Caraway Speedway is located near Asheboro, N.C. It was built in 1966 and paved in 1972. It was operated by Russell and Valastra Hackett from 1977 through 2010, at which time Russell Hackett retired and turned the operation over to his son, Darren Hackett.
