LOCKPORT, N.Y. — Neil Truesdell died at age 93 at Niagara Hospice House here on Jan. 31.
The lifelong resident of Ransomville, N.Y., drove his signature No. 20 modifeds on dirt and asphalt tracks in New York and Canada from the 1950s through the ’70s.
Truesdell was a member of the Ransomville Slowpokes car club when they built Ransomville Speedway in 1958. He served in the Merchant Marine in 1947-’48 and was a 59-year member of the Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Joyce; son Richard and daughter Linda.
