GEORGETOWN, Del. — The historic Georgetown Speedway will open the Northeast dirt modified season with the sixth annual Melvin L. Joseph Memorial March 12-13.
The event, named in honor of the original builder of the half-mile Sussex County facility, will culminate with the 49-lap, $10,049-to-win Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series opener March 13. This event boasts a $33,889 minimum pay structure ($490 to take the green) plus plentiful bonuses, special awards and certificates.
The Saturday program also includes the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman opener (25 laps, $1,549 to win) plus 12-lap features for the lincolns, super trucks and chargers.
Friday night kicks off the weekend with small-block modifieds headlining the program offering $4,049-to-win 30 lapper. Also competing on Friday are the RUSH late models plus 12-lap features for the vintage stock cars, super trucks and chargers.
