ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. — Lincoln Speedway has postponed its annual Ice Breaker, scheduled for Feb. 20, due to the inclement weather. With low temperatures and snow accumulation with more forecasted, track officials made the decision to delay racing at the speedway until next weekend.

“We know that fans and race teams look forward to the Ice Breaker all off-season, there’s nothing better than seeing the shiny new racecars on the track for the first time.” said General Manager Jerry Parrish. “Everyone at Lincoln Speedway is excited to get the season started, and we look forward to getting the Ice Breaker in as soon as Mother Nature cooperates.”

The Ice Breaker is now scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 27. Last year, the Ice Breaker was a huge success with a great turn out of fans and race cars with Danny Dietrich earning his second opening day victory.

This is not the first time the Ice Breaker has been postponed. It has only run in February 14 times during the past 25 years. The first attempt at a February race came in 1994 when it was delayed four weeks and one day due to weather. In 1999, Lincoln held its opener on Feb. 20, which is the earliest the track has opened.
