Play in all competitions organised on a group all-play-all basis, the Mexican trio comprising Dario Arce, Rogelio Castro and Juan Jesus Gomez finished ahead of Guatemala who selected from Sergio Carillo, Jorge Chacon, Diego de la Cruz and Kevin Ruano. Notably, Dario Arce and Juan Jesus Gomez remained unbeaten throughout.
Comprehensive performances, it was even more comprehensive from Mexico in the under 19 girls’ team competition. Not one single match was surrendered as the outfit comprising Marbella Aceves, Clio Barcenas, Arantxa Cossio Aceves and Monica Muñoz secured top spot.
Similar to the boys, represented by Dulce Lopez, Monica Mejia and Mercedes Mendizabal; Guatemala had to settle for the runners up spot.
Runners up spot for the hosts, in the cadet boys’ team event it was one step higher, the top step. On each occasion three-nil wins posted, the trio formed by Luis Angel Carrillo Turcois, Ricardo Gatica and Andy Moscoso secured gold; Costa Rica with Alejando Montoya, Alejadro Pereira and Elias Vega on duty reserved the silver medal position.
Gold for Guatemala, silver for Costa Rica, in the cadet girls’ team event, the order was reversed. Victoria Sofia Castro Salas, Sofia Perez and Lucia Zavaleta finished proceedings in top spot ahead of Jenny Cux, Kimberly Garcia and Daniela Linaves. The player to catch the eye being Lucia Zavaleta, she remained unbeaten throughout.
