Delhi Capitals chose to bat vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

On a pitch that he thought was dryer than usual, and with the hope that there won't be much dew later in the night, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant chose to bat in Chennai and beefed up his spin-bowling stocks with Axar Patel.

Axar has been sidelined since the start of the tournament with Covid-19 but recently linked up with the squad. Given the left-arm spinner said getting out of quarantine was the best moment of his life, after his Test debut, he must be raring for some action.

Sunrisers made one change too. Their captain David Warner said Bhuvneshwar Kumar "pulled up sore" and as a result had to be replaced with J Suchith.
