KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway winner Brad Keselowski will kick off his quest for two NASCAR Cup Series wins in a row from the Busch Pole Sunday at Kansas Speedway.

Keselowski, the driver of the No. 2 Ford Mustang for Team Penske, received the Busch Pole Award for the Buschy McBusch Race 400 courtesy of the highest metric score among the 39 cars entered to compete.

Lap speed is weighted at 15 percent, previous race finish at 25 percent for the driver and owner results and owner points position at 35 percent to calculate the final metric score.

Keselowski earned the pole with a metric score of 3.2, factoring in his recent win at Talladega, the fourth-fastest lap from that event and his sixth-place seeding in the point standings after 10 of 36 races this season.

He’ll be joined on the front row by Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron, with Daytona 500 winner Michael McDowell and Kevin Harvick sharing the second row of the grid.

Matt DiBenedetto starts fifth, followed by Austin Dillon, Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, Kyle Busch and Cole Custer.

Cup Series point leader Denny Hamlin, who is winless through 10 races this year, starts 20th in the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

Sunday’s Buschy McBusch Race 400 is scheduled for a 3 p.m. ET start, with live coverage on FS1, the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
