Premiership: Harlequins v Newcastle Falcons

Harlequins ended the regular Premiership season in style as they ran in eight tries to comfortably beat Newcastle Falcons.

Jack Kenningham and Danny Care scored either side of George McGuigan's try for Falcons as Quins never trailed.

McGuigan crossed again but Care, Tyrone Green and Louis Lynagh replied to put the hosts into a commanding lead.

Adam Radwan and Jamie Blamire cut their advantage but Joe Marchant, Martin Landajo and Joe Gray sealed the win.

The emphatic victory means Quins go into the Premiership play-offs in fine form with five wins from their final seven games and they will now face an away tie at table-toppers Bristol, who were handed four points from their cancelled match against London Irish on Saturday.

Quins had already wrapped up fourth place coming into the match but Newcastle missed a slim chance to nudge themselves into the top eight - and a place in next season's Champions Cup - following the defeat.

A comfortable first-half performance from Quins was summed up just before the break when Joe Marler stole the ball from a line-out on halfway before some quick thinking from Care allowed him to cross for his second try.

That confidence translated to the second half, where Harlequins swiftly dealt with their opponents although Radwan, fresh from his England call-up, gave the visitors hope of an unlikely comeback.

However, Quins ended on a high with two tries in the final five minutes of the match to ensure they go into next Saturday's play-off semi-final with Bristol in good heart.

Newcastle: Hodgson; Radwan, Wacokecoke, Burrell, Carreras; Connon, Schreuder; Brocklebank, McGuigan, Davison, Peterson, Robinson, Welch, Wilson (capt), Chick
