South Africa chose to bat vs Ireland
A new-look South Africa XI has been chosen to close out their winter tour and the T20I series against Ireland, which the visitors have won already. The visitors made five changes to the team that won the second match and rested Quinton de Kock, Janneman Malan, Rassie van der Dussen, Lungi Ngidi and Tabraiz Shamsi.
Reeza Hendricks was brought in to open alongside Temba Bavuma, with Aiden Markram to bat at No.3, David Miller at No.4 and Heinrich Klaasen given his first opportunity of the series, which will include keeping wickets. All three allrounders are in the team - seam-bowlers Wiaan Mulder and Andile Phehlukwayo, and spin-bowling allrounder George Linde. Left-arm spinner Bjorn Fortuin, left-am seamer Beuran Hendricks and right-arm pacer Lizaad Williams make up the attack, which does not feature either Kagiso Rabada or Lungi Ngidi.
Ireland, though, have made fewer changes as they seek a consolation win. They have left out batting allrounder George Dockrell and handed a debut to legspinner Benjamin White, while also benching Josh Little and bringing back Barry McCarthy, who went wicketless in the first T20I.
Ireland: 1 Paul Stirling, 2 Kevin O'Brien, 3 Andy Balbirnie (capt), 4 Harry Tector, 5 Lorcan Tucker (wk), 6 Shane Getkate, 7 Simi Singh, 8 Mark Adair, 9 Craig Young 10 Barry McCarthy, 11 Benjamin White
South Africa: 1 Temba Bavuma (capt), 2 Reeza Hendricks, 3 Aiden Markram, 4 David Miller, 5 Heinrich Klaasen (wk), 6 Wiaan Mulder, 7 Andile Phehlukwayo, 8 George Linde, 9 Bjorn Fortuin, 10 Beuran Hendricks, 11 Lizaad Williams
