Beijing TATA Tongchuang Industry and Trade Co., Ltd (TATA Wooden Door), a World Table Tennis Championships (WTTC) partner since 2017, has extended its support of the World Championships to 2023.

TATA Wooden Door has been a loyal partner of the World Table Tennis Championships from 2017 and 2020. TATA Wooden Door, whose ethos is about producing elegant, soundproofed products and being socially responsible, has also been a presenting partner of the TATA Trick shots.

TATA Trick shots feature legendary table tennis stars such as Ma Long and Liu Shiwen, who showcase their skills through trick shots with TATA miniature doors.

As part of this extended partnership with the World Table Tennis Championships, TATA Wooden Door will now have further opportunities to increase its brand awareness and product innovations through its presence at the prestigious event.

The World Table Tennis Championship has a storied history, with the first event held in London in 1926. The event holds the most historical significance and highest global interest among players, fans, media and partners.

Zong Ruiyuan, TATA Wooden Door President, said: “It is a great honour for TATA Wooden Door to partner with ITTF and WTT to bring table tennis into a new era. We hope that we can continue to contribute to the sport, and we believe there will be more opportunities in the future where we can witness countless glorious moments together.

“At the recent Olympic Games, the Chinese table tennis players performed very well, and the Olympic spirit and sportsmanship displayed by all the athletes are very admirable. And now it is time for them to compete at the WTTC. Due to the epidemic, it has been over one year since the last WTTC. On behalf of all the staff of TATA Wooden Door, I wish the event a complete success, and the athletes can perform at the highest level and present a wonderful visual feast for fans all over the world.”

Matt Pound, WTT Managing Director, said: ” Following the successful four-year partnership between TATA and the ITTF, we are delighted to continue the partnerships with TATA Wooden Door. This year marks the start of the new World Table Tennis Championships structure, with the 2021 Finals in Houston and the launch of World Table Tennis (WTT).

“The new initiatives are aimed at reimagining and redefining the sport of table tennis, placing athletes and fans at the core of what we do. It is a fascinating time for us, and we are grateful and happy for the support of our long-term partner TATA Wooden Door to go on this journey together. We look forward to bringing the TATA Wooden Door brand to more people worldwide to help TATA Wooden Door realise its corporate vision of “make better doors for more people.”

The World Table Tennis Championship was last held in Budapest in 2019. The Team edition was scheduled to take place in Busan, Republic of Korea, last year. But it was postponed and eventually cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the first time in 95 years that the event will come to the USA and is followed by Chengdu (China) in 2022 to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ping Pong Diplomacy.
