The Los Angeles Angels and left-handed reliever Aaron Loup have agreed to a two-year, $17 million contract, the team announced.
He will receive $7.5 million in both the 2022 and '23 seasons.
The deal also includes a $7.5 million team option for the 2024 season. Loup would receive a $2 million buyout if the Angels decline the option.
Loup, 33, was 6-0 with a 0.95 ERA in 56⅔ innings for the New York Mets last season. He is the second former Mets pitcher to join the Angels this offseason after Noah Syndergaard joined the franchise on a one-year contract last week.
For his career, Loup has a 3.05 ERA over 407⅔ innings pitched in 10 major league seasons.
