The Seattle Mariners and shortstop J.P. Crawford have reached an agreement on a five-year, $51 million contract, sources familiar with the deal told ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Sources said the new deal will start this year and buys out two free-agent seasons for Crawford.
Crawford had been set to make $4.85 million this season after reaching a deal last month to avoid arbitration. He made $2.05 million in 2021, when he hit .273 with nine home runs and 54 RBIs.
Crawford, 27, won a Gold Glove at shortstop in 2020 and is a career .251 hitter with 21 home runs and 141 RBIs over five seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies and Mariners.
