Women's Six Nations: Scotland target home victories to end losing streak

Scotland head coach Bryan Easson says the aim for his side is to turn tight defeats into wins in the upcoming Women's Six Nations.

Scotland have lost their last nine games in all competitions, including three pool outings at last year's World Cup, edged out by the final kick in a thriller with Wales and a two-point heartache against Australia.

"We want to start turning those one, two, three point defeats into one, two, three point victories," Easson told BBC Scotland.

Scotland open the tournament away to England on 25 March (16:45 GMT) and have home fixtures against Wales, Ireland and Italy.

"The three games at home, especially against the Welsh - it was so tight against them in the World Cup - we're good enough to target these games," added Easson.

"The way we look at every game is about us improving. We reviewed after the World Cup, we had some good performances there, but we want to move on.

"It's not about pressurising. Results-wise, we're not going to say to the girls it's about (winning) 'x' amount of games. It's about performance. We believe that if we put in good performances, we will win games."

Easson has named seven uncapped players in his squad.

Forwards Fiona Cooper, Erinn Foley and Emma Turner, as well as backs Beth Blacklock, Rhea Clarke, Fran McGhie and Holly McIntyre could all make their senior international debuts.

Rachel Malcolm continues as captain with her Loughborough Lightning team-mate Helen Nelson vice-captain.

Chris Laidlaw has joined Easson's staff as attack coach, following Martin Haag's recent appointment as forwards coach.
