Chengdu Preview Doo and Wong, shine light for Team Hong Kong, China

Spearheaded by Doo Hoi Kem and Wong Chun Ting, both having achieved strong results in singles and notably in the mixed doubles together. Team Hong Kong, China returns to Chengdu aiming to make their mark after both the Mens and Womens teams missed out on the semifinals at last years ITTF World Team Championships.

Beyond a strong mixed doubles pairing, Team Hong Kong, China features dynamic pairings in both the mens and womens doubles which could give them a significant advantage in the finale under the new playing system.

TEAM HONG KONG, CHINA (#7 seed)

DOO Hoi Kem (World No.37)
Cool, calm and strategic, Doo Hoi Kem has proven her ability on the world stage against some of the biggest names in table tennis. Breaking onto the scene in 2014 with her impressive podium finish at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, Doo has enjoyed success on multiple fronts with World Championships medals across the doubles and team disciplines.

ZHU Chengzhu (World No.48)
Zhu Chengzhu left Chengdu last year with a strong 7-1 record saving her team from defeat twice. Ranked 8th in Womens Doubles and claiming gold in the womens doubles in WTT Contender Muscat, Zhu is a key asset in the teams event.

NG Wing Lam (World No.106)
At 20, Ng Wing Lam is a left-handed player with a lot of potential. She has proven her prowess in doubles, winning the womens doubles at WTT Contender Muscat and mixed doubles at WTT Feeder Doha II.

LEE Ho Ching (World No.127)
Lee Ho Ching has played a major role in previous team competitions, helping the Hong Kong, China womens team secure the bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games and at three World Team Championships.

WONG Chun Ting (World No.39)
A master craftsman who has perfected the art of the pen-hold grip, Wong Chun Ting is a man of many talents! His standout moment came at the 2016 Mens World Cup, leaving the German city of Saarbrücken with the bronze medal around his neck. Wong has also proven a highly competitive player on the doubles, and especially mixed doubles scene, standing on the World Championships podium twice.

LAM Siu Hang (World No.90)
Lam Siu Hang has performed strongly in double events in 2023, making it to three finals on the WTT Feeder Series in the mens doubles and mixed doubles. Lam may be a strategic player to include in the double events in the new playing system.

CHAN Baldwin (World No.142)
At 18, Chan Baldwin is the teams youngest player and a rising star for Team Hong Kong, China winning the U19 mens singles at the WTT Youth Contender Almaty 2023 and the WTT Youth Contender Helsingborg 2023.

HO Kwan Kit (World No.164)
Left-handed Ho Kwan Kit is a strong performer in doubles. Ranked 13th in mens doubles and reaching the finals in the mens doubles of WTT Feeder Doha 2023, Ho will definitely be a top-priority choice for doubles under the new format.
