In the wake of the successful Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the host cities for the 2025 Continental Para Table Tennis Championships have been officially confirmed. Athletes and fans alike are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to see world-class competition take place across several continents. The cities set to host the prestigious event are:

  • Africa: Alexandria, Egypt
  • Americas: Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • Asia: Beijing, China
  • Europe: Helsinborg, Sweden
  • Oceania: Auckland, New Zealand

Each location brings its own unique excitement, particularly for athletes who will get the rare opportunity to compete on home soil. The announcement has generated enthusiasm among Para table tennis players and fans, many of whom have been inspired by the electric atmosphere of the Paris 2024 Games. Now, attention shifts to these major cities, as they prepare to welcome the best Para table tennis players from their respective continents.

One of the athletes most thrilled by this announcement is New Zealands own Matthew Britz. Britz, who made history by becoming New Zealands first Para table tennis athlete in 48 years to compete at the Paralympic Games, is excited to bring his talents back to home soil. The Oceania Championships will mark the first time New Zealand hosts the prestigious event, and Britz hopes to see the same level of support he experienced in Paris.

Im excited for it, I believe its going to be the first time that New Zealand hosts the Oceania Para Championships. I would love to see the support over there, especially after all the comments Ive been receiving on social media. Ive been trying to keep up with everyone but truly grateful for the support, and hopefully, Ill see them next year at the Championships.

Britzs journey has captured the public eye and his performance in Paris has inspired a growing fanbase. Hosting the Championships in Auckland provides a unique chance for local fans to witness top-tier competition and cheer on their hometown hero.

For Swedish athlete Daniel Gustafsson, the 2025 European Para Table Tennis Championships represent an exciting opportunity to compete in front of a home crowd. Gustafsson, who competed in the high-energy environment of the Paris 2024 Paralympics, is eagerly anticipating next years event in Helsingborg, Sweden.

Its been amazing competing in Paris, the atmosphere has been crazy and hopefully will be like this next year in Helsingborg! I cant wait to see the crowds all there at the European Para Table Tennis Championships,

His anticipation is shared by many other Sweden athletes, as the opportunity to compete in familiar surroundings often brings extra motivation. Helsingborg, a coastal city known for its sporting culture, will serve as an ideal backdrop for Europes top Para table tennis athletes to showcase their skills and determination.

From Alexandria in Africa to Beijing in Asia, excitement is building across continents as athletes prepare to compete in their respective regional championships. The 2025 Continental Para Table Tennis Championships will not only feature intense competition but also serve as a celebration of diversity and resilience in Para sports.

As the countdown begins, the global Para table tennis community eagerly looks forward to another year of exceptional performances and unforgettable moments. Whether in Auckland, Helsingborg, or beyond, these Championships will be a landmark event, bringing together the best of the sport in a celebration of talent, resilience, and unity.
