Toronto Raptors center Marc Gasol will miss a period of weeks with a left hamstring strain, league sources told ESPN.
Gasol's rehabilitation program will dictate how soon he'll be able to return, but he's expected to be out of the lineup for the foreseeable future, sources said.
Gasol has started all of Toronto's games this season but has been used in a reduced-minutes role. He's averaged nine points and 6.6 rebounds in 24 minutes per game. Serge Ibaka and Chris Boucher are expected to take on increased center minutes during Gasol's absence.
Gasol, 34, was a key part of the Raptors' championship run a year ago, joining the team at the February trade deadline from Memphis. Gasol is a three-time All-Star and a 2015 first-team All-NBA player and NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
