Thunder players were among those evacuated from an Oklahoma City mall when an isolated shooting took place on Thursday.
The players were attending a movie at the Penn Square Mall when a man was shot elsewhere at the shopping complex.
"Thunder security was made aware immediately. The team was never in danger and was safe during the entirety of the event," the team said in a statement.
Police tweeted that a suspect was seen fleeing from the area of Foot Locker. Police were searching the stores for the suspect while also clearing out shoppers who were still hiding.
Sgt. Kris Gellenbeck said the victim was hospitalized in critical condition after being shot in the upper body.
Gellenbeck said it wasn't known whether the suspect had left Penn Square Mall. Video from the scene showed a heavy police presence in the parking lot Thursday evening.
