Since his move from Sporting CP in January, Fernandes has been unable to feature alongside Pogba who has been out of action since December after suffering metatarsal and ankle injuries.

United won the second game 3-1 with a double from Andreas Pereira and a Tahith Chong goal. Marcus Rashford also returned from a back injury to make his first appearance since January.

With matches set to be played behind closed doors when the Premier League returns, United have set up a campaign to show the pictures of supporters on a mosaic that will be displayed in their first home match.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side saw a friendly with Stoke City called off on Tuesday after their manager Michael O'Neill had tested positive for the coronavirus.

United return to action with a trip to Tottenham on June 19 before welcoming Sheffield United to Old Trafford on June 24.
