FRESNO, Calif. – With three consecutive Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 championships under his belt, Aaron Reutzel is ready for a new challenge.
Reutzel will embark on his first full-time season with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series next year, driving the iconic Roth Motorsports No. 83.
“I am extremely thankful for the opportunity that Dennis and Teresa Roth have given me, and I am very excited about teaming up with Roth Motorsports and running with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series full time,” Reutzel said. “It is something I have always wanted to do, and this was an opportunity that I could not pass up.”
For longtime car owner Dennis Roth, there is a similar excitement about the new pairing for the season ahead.
“Aaron Reutzel is a very talented race car driver that we have had the pleasure of working with on a few occasions over the years,” Roth said. “We are very excited to welcome him to our team for the 2021 season and give him his first shot full time with the World of Outlaws.”
Climbing the ladder over the years, Reutzel moves into the seat of the Roth Motorsports entry after claiming the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship in 2015, as well as his three consecutive All Star titles 2018-’20.
The 2018 season also saw the Clute, Texas, driver earn All Star rookie-of-the-year honors.
Since turning his focus to 410 sprint car racing the last few years, Reutzel has pocketed 36 career All Star wins to go along with those three championships, two feature wins with the World of Outlaws, two Knoxville Raceway wins, a win at the Peter Murphy Classic with Roth Motorsports, and a Winter Heat Showdown win.
“Roth Motorsports and I have had success together in the past, so I know this decision is what’s best for me and my family,” Reutzel added. “I am stoked to finally have my shot with the Outlaws. It did come a little sooner than I wanted with the age of my kids and me wanting to be there with them, but we will make the best of it.
“I am really looking forward to the 2021 season and all that it has to bring.”
As Reutzel makes the jump to the Fresno, Calif.-based team, he will also bring along his current crew chief, Dylan Buswell.
Originally from Australia, where he most recently served as the crew chief for Krikke Motorsports, Buswell assumed similar duties with Reutzel this season and helped him to another stellar campaign.
“It’s not often that you are able to bring your crew chief with you to a new team, and I am excited to continue to work with Dylan Buswell,” Reutzel noted. “We hit it off great in 2020, and I feel like we make a great team together.”
With Buswell taking over crew chief duties on the Roth Motorsports traveling car, Brent Ventura will serve as a traveling liaison for the team. Ventura will spend some time on the road with the team and will also oversee any racing that Roth Motorsports does in their home state of California.
Joining Buswell on the road will be Tony Barkman, who was on this year’s World of Outlaws squad with Roth Motorsports.
