HAGERSTOWN, Md. – Gary Stuhler avoided a multi-car wreck on lap three then stormed to victory in the super late model feature that headlined Saturday’s racing program at Hagerstown Speedway.

Stuhler started ninth and managed to avoid the multi-car melee on lap three that eliminated four cars from the field. Stuhler then took advantage of a lap-10 restart, only to give up the sport in the next corner to Colton Flinner.

Flinner’s stay at the front was brief as on the next lap he jumped the cushion in turn four, opening the door for Stuhler to take the lead. Once out front, he never gave up the lead again.

“Colton probably would have won if he hadn’t jumped the cushion,” Stuhler said. “It has been a long time since we have been in victory lane and I feel very fortunate to be here.”

Matt Cosner finished in the runner-up position and Tyler Bare finished third.

Scot Sipes won for the third-straight week in the hobby stock division in dramatic fashion, beating Trevor Larrick to the finish line in a photo finish. Sipes started third and got to second on lap three. He took the lead from Larrick on lap eight and the battle continued until the checkered flag, with Sipes taking the win.

“I am so thankful that he raced me clean,” Sipes said. “It just doesn’t get any better than this.”

Larrick finished second and Dylan Beavers scored a podium finish in third.

Drake Troutman scored the victory in the Mid-Atlantic Modified feature event after starting ninth. The No. 747 of Jimmy Jesmer started second and took the early lead. He didn’t stay there for long after contact with Brad Kling’s No. 11 on the backstretch, causing Jesmer to spin into turn three.

The No. 81 of Steve Axtell Jr. took the lead with eight laps to go, but was chased down by Troutman. Troutman took second with six laps to go and then took the lead with four laps left and never looked back.

“I found something when I went to the top groove,” Troutman said. “We raced last night and had a lot of work to do to get here today and I’m very glad we were able to pull it off tonight.”

Kling finished second and Axtell finished third.
